📖 A SHORT STORY USING ALL 20 WORDS
In an autonomous kingdom ruled by ancient traditions, people were expected to show obeisance to the king at every public gathering. Any lack of respect was considered deplorable, and offenders were often punished.
One year, a young scholar known for his veracity and honest conduct arrived at the royal court. Though he lived a sedentary life devoted to books, his ideas were startling to many. Unlike others, he did not vaunt his knowledge; instead, he spoke with humility.
The king, though old, was still hale and hearty and listened carefully. The scholar warned that blind obedience often led to aberration in judgment. His words caused jubilation among the common people, who had long hankered for change.
However, not everyone was pleased. A few nobles, infatuated with their own power, reacted with wretched expressions. Their vacuous arguments were full of noise but empty of logic. One minister delivered a perfervid speech attacking the scholar, accusing him of betrayal.
Sensing rising tension, the king called for rapprochement between the scholar and the nobles. He declared a moratorium on all punishments until the matter was resolved. In the end, the truth prevailed, and the scholar emerged unscathed.
The episode taught the kingdom that honest dialogue prevents conflict, and that wisdom does not come from authority alone, but from courage and truth.
